Starting The Year Right
Another year has yet come our way, and as we always wish every single year, we hope that it will be good to us. This year, instead of asking and hoping for 2015 to be good to me, I say, I will make you be good to me :D And as for me, here are the things I did to start my year right:
1. Went to Church and attended the New Year's Mass
It has always been a family tradition to hear mass on the very first day of the year. A good reason to keep up the old family tradition where every single member of the family, regardless of how busy they are spares a bit of time to thank God for another year to be filled with prosperity. Now no matter what religion you believe in or how often you practice it, for me it's always good to start the year to thank God for all the good things in life.
2. Spent time with my family
Year 2014 was quite of a half and half year for me. It was the year I graduated in College and immediately got my first teaching job. It was also the year when we became homeless and family problems arise. Well crazy right? But as they say life must go on, and you can never get wrong with spending time with your family which is a great way to bring back communication and ease out barriers that have been built up by the modern technological era. Me and my family simple bonded by watching a movie on cinema and ate on our favorite restaurant. Simple yet memorable.
3. Greeted my friends and relatives over social media
Since this season is all about spreading Christmas cheer to all, I wished all of my friends a Merry Chrsitmas through personal greetings, text and social media. It won't hurt to reconnect with your acquaintances whom you have grown apart for the past years, who knows they're just a simple one sentence message away.
4. Gift Giving
I am a kind of person who actually thinks more of what I can give more than what I can receive. I try as much as I can to give a simple token to the people I care most to show my affection and gratitude for them. Though I cannot provide everyone with the material things they want or need, I see to it that at least spending my time or rendering my service would start my year right.
5. Made a SOLID New Year's Resolution
Well it never hurts to make goals right? As long as you actually try to achieve them. Even a single New Year's resolution would be one of the great ways to start the year right. Many people back away from resolutions thinking that it will just burden or bother them throughout the year because they can't keep it. But actually, resolutions are simply GOALS and Tasks that you want to do, achieve or happen for the year. Just think of simple ones and it will make your year more meaningful to live by.
I also want to know what you did for the New Year! Please feel free to comment so below and I'll try to keep updated. Make sure to make this year be good to you ;)
All the best,
Arelexxx
